The William Randolph Hearst Greek Theatre was built back in 1903 and is an out-door amphitheater that seats 8,500.  More familiarly known as the Greek Theatre, the venue is hosts a huge variety of events: classical plays, rowdy outdoor concerts, graduation ceremonies, and stand-up comedy and hypnotists. 

The Greek Theatre was put on the list of National Historic places in 1982 and has been well-preserved since.  A bonfire is held at the Greek Theatre before every home football game against rivals, Stanford.  Past musical performances have included Death Cab for Cutie, Stone Temple Pilots, and Tom Petty.
