While playing in Hawaii, Aaron Tipoti was recognized by the Honolulu Star Bulletin as a first team all-state choice.

Aaron Tipoti redshirted with the Cal Bears in 2008. In 2009 Aaron Tipoti competed in 12 games with 2 starts. He made 21 tackles and .5 for loss.
