Brock Mansion was born on December 19, 1987 and grew up in Dallas Texas. As a high school football athlete for the Episcopal School of Dallas, Brock Mansion threw for 2,200 yards and 26 touchdowns during his senior year.

Brock Mansion chose to redshirt the 2007 season for the California Golden Bears football team. He spent his time working closely with the scout team, training, and lifting weights. He even earned the title of Freshman Lifter of the Year.

Brock Mansion only played twice in 2008 and managed to record one touchdown between both games. In 2009, Brock Mansion spent most of his time as a kick holder. He did play once and threw an incomplete pass.
