Covaughn DeBoskie was born on December 18, 1989 and grew up in Chandler, Arizona. He graduated from Hamilton High School after a strong athletic career. As a senior, DeBoskie rushed for 821 yards for 13 touchdowns plus 362 yards and 5 touchdowns through passing.

Covaughn DeBoskie graduated early from high school in January 2008 and joined the California Bears football team for spring training. He then chose to red-shirt his freshman year in 2008 with the Cal Bears football team.
