More Info
Deandre Coleman is physically imposing. At 6'6" and 310 pounds, he is the second biggest player on the roster, just behind 6'6", 330 pound offensive lineman Mitchell Schwartz. His large size helped him from his high school days at Garfield in Seattle, Washington. By the time his high school career drew to a close, Deandre Coleman had amassed a wide variety of prestigious honors. Rivals.com put Deandre Coleman as a 4 star recruit. The Tacoma News-Tribune placed Deandre Coleman as the top player in the Northwest. He was also the only player from Washington to compete in the U.S. Army All-American Bowl. Parade Magazine gave him the 2009 All-America and first-team All-State honors.
Deandre Coleman's senior year was the most prolific. He made 46 tackles,2 sacks and 1 fumble recovery. When Deandre Coleman picked the Cal Bears, he was the third player from Washington in recent school history. Cal Bears players Trevor Guyton and Anthony Felde also are from Washington, too.
Deandre Coleman opted to redshirt in 2009. He should be a force to be reckoned with in his upcoming games with the Cal Bears. To see the action live, please purchase Cal Bears football tickets today.
