Kendrick Payne was born on June 14, 1990 and arrived in a family already familiar with upper-level football playing. His uncle, Harvey Williams, was a member of the LSU football team and later went on to play for the Oakland Raiders and Kansas City Chiefs.

Kendrick Payne grew up in Houston, Texas and played high school football for Klein Forest. Though his junior season was plagued by injury, he recovered in time for his senior year and recorded 44 tackles and seven sacks. He was recognized as Co-Defensive MVP in his school's district.

Though Kendrick Payne redshirted in 2008, he was very active in training and prep work. In fact, he added an impressive 20 pounds in order to get his body geared up for college play. 2009 promises to be a fresh chance for this somewhat untested player to prove himself and we'll see what the fall brings!
