Michael Calvin hails from San Lorenzo, California. He was born on June 7, 1989 and graduated from San Lorenzo High School in 2007.

As a high school football player, Michael Calvin recorded 39 receptions for 789 yards and 9 touchdown his junior year. He was also rated the 25th best wide receiver in the nation by Scout.

Michael Calvin chose to redshirt his first season with the California Bears football team in 2007. He played heavily on the scout team and was named the Scout Team Player of the Year honors for offense.

With 3 strong wide receivers gone after graduation, Michael Calvin has a great shot to see lots of playing time in 2008. However, after just 4 games he had an injury that ended in surgery in 2009. In those 4 games, though, Michael Calvin had 8 receptions for 103 yards. Hopefully he's healed and ready to play in 2009.
